It looked as though it was going to be a lovely session, clear blue skies, some decent waves and a nice 18-20 knot wind. So I rigged my 5.7m and my Cross and got out there. As I got to the water, the wind dropped and I wobbled out, got going once, then fell off, couldn't waterstart and had to swim back in. As I did a wave ciyught me and ripped my sail!!!

Grrrr... Now I only have either a 6.3m or a 4.5m.

The wind didn't come back and was now only about 10 knots, so I packed up and then decided to go home, get my kite and mountain board and go back out with those. In the five minutes it took me to get home and back to the beach, the wind had once again picked up and was now a steady 20 knots again.... Too much for my 4.9m Blade thats for sure, especially as Shem had just had quite a nasty experience with a 3m kite. A dog had a bit of a go at hime and he ended up getting his safety tangled up and then got dragged a couple of hundred yards across the beach at a 'million miles per hour' and stopped just a couple of metres short of the big groyne.... Quite a close call really as it could have ended up being pretty nasty.
